THE ARGENTINE GIRLS' U YOUTH TEAM WON THE BRONZE MEDAL AT THEIR FIRST EVER SOUTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP IN URUGUAY

The Argentine team that obtained the Bronze Medal in Uruguay

Montevideo, Uruguay, November 26, 2011 - Argentina finished its patch at the first ever South American Championship for under 15 years old winning the Bronze Medal. The team coached by Guillermo Cáceres got the third place after a new very intensive match v Chile won in a tie-breaker definition.

The two final matches were programmed to the best of five sets - with difference to the rest of the competition to the best of three sets.

Argentina and Chile played a friendly series of matches in Santa Fe and Buenos Aires provinces prior to this official competition to get some international experience and the light blue - white jersey team always defeated the visiting team.

Twice Argentina lead the score but on both times Chile levelled coming from behind putting the final match 2-2 and forcing a tie-breaker definition. At that point, the Argentine girls got a good difference winning the medal 3-2 (25-15, 21-25, 25-16, 20-25, 15-10).

In the semi-final matches, Argentina nearly defeated Brazil but was overcome 2-1 (25-20, 26-28, 16-14) while Peru defeated Chile 2-0.

The places 5th to 8th finished with Colombia winning over Venezuela 2-0 to finish on the fifth place while Paraguay overcame Uruguay to end on the seventh place.
