Gallay-Zonta with a new continental sivler medal

Manta, Ecuador, December 5, 2011 - Ana Gallay and Virginia Zonta, the best Argentine ranked beach volleyball women team won the Silver Medal at the 2md. South American Games in Manta beach resort after being defeated by the Brazilian team of Liliane Simoes-Rebecca Barbosa 2-0 (15-21, 15-21). Mehamed-Azaad, finished on the fourth place.

Therefore the Argentine Women beach volleyball team obtained a new silver medal at continental level as they did twice at the South American Tour in Ecuador and Venezuela and also just a month ago in Recife, Brazil.

At the start of this final date in beach, Gallay-Zonta showed a great performance over the best Uruguayan Team 2-0 (21-17, 21-19). Therefore the Argentine team will participate of a new Continental Final as they did in both South American Tour stops, in Ecuador and Venezuela and nearly a month ago, in Recife, Brazil.

Prior to their match the other final team was known when both Brazilian teams faced each other with Liliane Simoes-Rebecca Barbosa overcoming Barbara Seixas-Elize Maia 2-0 (21-10, 21-16). The defeated team overcame Gallay-Zonta in the recent South American final match in Recife.

There was also presence of Argentine Teams at the semi-finals for men teams with different luck: Ian Mehamed-Julián Azaad, early in the morning were defeated by the Brazilian team of Alvaro-Neilton (16-21, 10-21) and now will play for the Bronze Medal against the Uruguayan team of Nicolás Zanotta-Guillermo Williman, who were eliminated by the same score by the Venezuelan team of Hernández-Mussa.

The young men team played against Uruguay, Nicolás Zanotta-Guillermo Williman. The bronze medal match started with the leadership of the Argentine team of Mehamed-Azaad, but the Uruguayan coming from behind won in a tie-break definition by 1-2 (21-17, 14-21, 8-15).
