Mar del Plata beach resort ready to see the best beach volleyball of the country

Mar del Plata, Argentina, January 6, 2012 - Finally, as settled beforehand, the 2012 Argentine Summer Beach Volleyball Tour, will start in the "classical" venue of Mar del Plata. The important resort city will welcome the best teams January 13th-15th. Registration is already open for this event.

Mar del Plata became once more a very successful summer season with over seven thousand tourists enjoying it and therefore the Argentine Volleyball Federation decided to open its season at "La Feliz".

FeVA president and main responsible beach volleyball person, Juan Antonio Gutiérrez, confirmed that the first stop will take place during the weekend of Jan. 13th-15th, while the second stop will go immediately afterwards. But that is not all, as there will be competitions for the U 16 and U 18, with the support of the Ente Municipal de Deportes y Recreación (EMDeR).

The activities during the summer will be very attractive. Gutiérrez pointed out that an historical beach volleyball athlete as Horacio Taccone is the head of the EMDeR at this point. Taccone was national champion together withe Martín Conte (former world champion) and he is one of the "historical" Argentine beach volleyball celebrities.

“We are on the right scenery to broadcasting and make grow beach volleyball in Mar del Plata with the CEDETALVO (National Development Centre in it) facilities, we enjoy a great summer season as we did not have in the last years and beach volleyball is part of the city entertainment schedule" added Gutiérrez.

Also, next week in Mar del Plata the four Argentine Women Beach Volleyball players that will compete at the final phase of the Continental Cup for a place at the Olympic Games will be in the city. They are Gallay-Zonta and Albano-Forguez working at the indoor CEDETALVO and in the beach volleyball fields under the coaching of Pablo Bernardi (born in Mar del Plata and in charge of all National Beach Volleyball teams.
