Azaad-Mehamed overcame Zorrilla-Del Coto

Neuquén, Argentina, March 3, 2012 - After a great intensive Qualy, today the Main Draw of the 8th stop of the Argentine National Beach Volleyball Tour fulfilled in its first day the expectations of beach volleyball fans. Two of the leaders teams in the ranking, Pablo Suárez-Santiago Etchegaray and Julián Azaad-Ian Mehamed already got tickets for Semi-Finals while the other two teams will be decided on Sunday early matches.

The first ranked team of the country had an outstanding performance in their third round match. Suárez- Etchegaray defeated Gabriel Fernández-Nicolás Aquindo 2-0 (21-12, 21-15) in 40 minutes. Their output is nearly perfect at the winners rounds (they won six of the seven stops losing the first one playing final match v Conde-Del Coto.

On the other side, after nearly one hour playing (51 m) Mehamed-Azaad overcame Juan Simón Zorrilla-Facundo Del Coto. This last one is a new team, with the Paraná blocker and the powerful Mar del Plata, that won the first set over Mehamed-Azaad, but coming from behind, the young team (one of the talented young teams supported by the Argentine Volleyball Federation) qualified for semi-finals 2-1 (15-21, 21-18, 15-11).

On the losers round six teams can still qualify for the other two semi-finalists places. Added to those defeated on the third round, there are also Emmanuel Espinosa-Héctor Vergara, local team that play indoor volleyball with Gigantes del Sur at the ACLAV A1 Men League (the other team of Gigantes, Dantas-Macor, were eliminated). Espinosa-Vergara eliminated Luis Quiroga-Francisco Galeano, in a terrific tie-break.

Also will compete this Sunday, also with chances for Semi-Finals Siri brothers (just come from representing Argentina in two South American Tour Stops), Biondi-Blanco and Carrocera-García. There is still a long path until the 8th stop ends in this beatiful Patagonian city.
