Pereyra was the best player of the light blue - white jersey team

California, USA, April 29, 2012 - While part of the Argentine Seniors' Men Team trained and played a series of five friendly matches v Cuba, the other part, coached by Javier Weber played their series v the Olympic Champion USA repeating a successful experience that took place in the year 2008 prior to both teams fighting their places at the Olympic Games, this time in London 2012. In a great match, Argentina as visiting team played at Pabellon Jserra this Sunday noon with a terrific and definitive tie breaker won by the host team 15-13. Now it is time to return home.

In general USA lead several times on the match but Argentina played well and won the second and fourth sets always recovering and coming from behind. In the fourth set, the host team was winning 20-15 and with Weber boys always fighting finished forcing a tie-breaker that was decided by the minimum difference.

In the first match, played on Friday evening and won by USA 3-1 the host team presented as today great experience players like Suxho, gardner, McKienzie, Lee and Millar while on the second match Weber put on the field Luciano De Cecco, Federico Pereyra, Sebastián Sólé, Gabriel Arroyo, Nicolás Bruno and Pablo Bengolea. Franco López was the libero and in Argentine only two substitutions stepped onto the field: Pablo Crer replaced Arroyo in the second set and Gonzalo Quiroga (that plays for the USA University competitions and joint the team when his brother had to stay in Europe to be part of the final series of his league) replaced Bruno in the fourth set..

Pereyra was the best player for the South American team with 29 points and 59 per cent efficiency along the five sets of the match.

Now, the team returns to Buenos Aires where Javier Weber and his staff will evaluate both series USA v Argentina and Argentina v Cuba to decide the names of the players that will participate of the South America Olympic Qualification Championship to be held in the country in Almirante Brown, May 11th - 13th.
