Teresina, Brazil, June 29, 2012 - The historical rivalry between Brazil and Argentina will open the 2012 season at the tradicional Challenge Voleibol Bando Do Brasil this weekend with four-players beach volleyball teams of both countries will face each other in Teresina, Piauí, at the north east of Brazil in the first stop programmed for this year.

Created in the year 2009, the Challenge Voleibol Banco do Brasil will have a new formula during this 2012 season. This year, the winner will come out from a Brazilian four-player team v another international team, in this case an Argentine one. The matches will take place to the best of three sets, all to 25 points. Brazil will be represented in this stop by the athletes Fernandão-Luciano and Izabel-Shaylyn.

The Olympic champion Sandra Pires will coach the brazilian Team. Izabel the most experienced player, 38 years old is happy with the new formula and mentions that the Brazilian are taking very seriously this challenge against other continental teams. "It will be a very interesting change. Shaylyn, Luciano and I never participated of the Challenge Banco do Brasil and we are eager to play it. mainly due to the new formula and playing against Argentina, our traditional rival. We want to train prior to the match so that everything turns out right. It will be very interesting for beach volleyball fans" says Izabel.

The player, has a very special relationship with the city where the venue take place this weekend. She lived there four years when she started being a beach volleyball player. "I started to play beach volleyball in Teresina and it is always a pleasure to return here. I already advised my friends and they promised to do a great party. A lot of people in Teresina helped me to take the first steps in this career and I am very happy to return and give back some of all their support" she added.

The Argentine four-player team includes Ian Mehamed, Pablo Suárez, Silvana Olivera and Georgina Klug. The Women team participated at the Final Round of the Continental Cup, at the Development Centre in Saquarema, and she is very excited of facing again Brazilian players. "We will play with two Argentine beach volleyball players that are participating of different international matches and are in a very good level. To play four players against four is very different so we will have to find the best way to play. We hope to give a great show for the local fans that will be watching us" expressed the Argentine girls.
