LONDON 2012: THE QUALIFIED TEAMS FOR BEACH VOLLEYBALL

Argentina alreay knows all its possible rivals at th Olympic Games

Lausanne, Switzerland, July 2, 2012 - This weekend all countries participating at the London Olympic Games 2012 were settled. Argentina will participate with its Women delegation for the first time in its history and already knows the possible rivals as the final fixture will be confirmed later by the International Volleyball Federation.

The final Round took place in Moscow, Russia with teams from all over the World. There, the roster of 24 countries for the Olympic Games was decided. The competition will take place at the historical Horse Guards Parade, in the heart of downtown London.

Argentina, always with its women teams, was one of the countries that qualified through out the Continental Cup, the new formula for beach volleyball Olympic Qualification. Together with the light blue - white jersey team, headed by Ana Gallay-Virginia Zonta, the other countries that got the ticket to London are Canada (NORCECA), Russia (Europe), Australia (Asia) and Mauricio (Africa).

The last round put two more places at stake. Russia finished winning one and The Netherlands, that played the final round of the European Continental Cup, losing it, won the other.

This seven countries completed the 16 that qualified thanks to their SWATCH-FIVB World Tour (the most important beach volleyball women competition of the World) added to the organizing country, Great Britain. Among these countries are teams of Brazi, USA, Germany, Czech Republic, China, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Austria and Greece.
