Gallay-Zonta training in Switzerland

Zurich, Switzerland, July 16, 2012 - The London Olympic Games are round the corner and the Argentine Beach Volleyball is enjoying an historical moment with the first presence of a women team at the most important World Sport Competition of the World. Prior to their participation at the same Gallay-Zonta are training without any rest in Europe adjusting their last output and this weekend participated of a tournament in Switzerland.

The girls that qualified through out the Continental Cup - new FIVB formula for Continental qualification for the Olympic Games - included also Georgina Klug, Silvana Olivera, Luciana Forguez and Gabriela Albano, participated at the Coop Beach Tour at Zurich stop.

At the Main Draw eight women teams, mostly from the host country, faced each other. Also Argentina, Brazil and Germany sent their representatives with Gallay-Zonta winning the double elimination Pool against the strong Brazil team - in an unquestionable victory over Moreira-Da Silva 2-0 (21-13, 21-16).

In the second round they were defeated by the host team Heidrich-Kayser 2-0. The winners reached the final match. The first set ended 23-21 and playing on the losers round they were very near of qualifying for Semi-finals but another host team Brunner-Hüberli, won 2-1 (21-17, 12-21, 13-15).

The end result left Gallay-Zonta at the 5th ranked place, with an important Swiss Francs award but the main reward was the experience won, to arrive to London with more preparation. They will stay in Zurich training.
