Argentina v USA in a training match in London

London, England, July 26, 2012 - The Argentine Juniors' Men Team enjoyed this Thursday its first complete day at the Olympic venue in London, dreaming on the start of the Olympic Games and its debut at Pool A v Australia next Sunday (10.45 Argentine time) v Australia. The team coached by Javier Weber played a friendly match v the Olympic Champion, USA.

The match took place at Earls Court Exhibition Centre, the venue where all indoor volleyball matches will take place during the Olympic event. Each team, prior to the competition itself, has one hour at the playing field, so both teams agreed on this friendly match that gave them two hours of continuous training.

Argentina and USA played four sets, with a 2-2 victory on each side of the net. While the light blue - white jersey team played with the same starting line-up all sets, the Beijing 2008 champion changed some players on the last set.

"We played well. Only on the first set, when we felt too much their killing serving. The balance is very positive" expressed from London the Assistant Coach, Juan Manuel Barrial.

This friendly match meant the only and last training of Argentina in Earls Court until facing Australia, also coached by an Argentine coach, Jon Uriarte. This Friday the team will work with weights while in the evening it will be part of the outstanding opening ceremony of all Olympic Games. On Saturday, they will train at the training field and will watch some videos.
