Zonta thought about Argentine Pool

London, England, July 27, 2012 - This Sunday will start the first historical experience for a women Argentine beach volleyball team. The participants are Ana Gallay-Virginia Zonta, that will face in a very demanding Pool D of the London Olympic Games, maintaining alive their Olympic medal dream.

Since the Argentine qualification in Santa Fe sand, at the Continental Cup facing Uruguay, the girls are working very hard preparing themselves for this important moment. Zonta, from Santa Fe and already settled in London mentions: "We are fine. This Friday we trained with the Chzec Republic team and we are confident and ready for our demanding pool. Even though we need more competition, we trained in Tenerife, and there we obtained some more experience as we needed".

The first round will see the Argentine team facing three very experienced international teams at the FIVB-SWATCH World Tour: Kessy-Ross from USA, Van Iersel-Keizer from Netherlands and Baquerizo-Fernández from Spain. "It is a very hard pool. The teams of Spain and Netherlands are among the best 15 world ranked teams and we do not face any team that qualified from the Continental Cup (new qualification formula for the Olympic Beach Volleyball in all five continents). Therefore the level of the teams we face, all good at the World ranking will be hard but nothing is impossible. We can play at their level" added Zonta.

While Kessy-Ross stand leading the Pool and full of titles won at FIVB competitions, the other two teams also won a lot of international experience prior to this important competition but until now, no European team has won any medals at the Women competitions. That is the main difference for Zonta when she adds: "All have a lot of experience over 50 stops of the World Tour, while we have only three in our background".

Nevertheless, just to be in London is an historical fact for Argentine Women beach volleyball and outside the competition results, to be part of it and enjoy it is great. "We train, we already took part of the General Meeting and we are hosted at the Villa. Everything is outstanding and no words can express this great experience. We will go to the opening ceremony (some can not go because they will participate of their sports Saturday early morning) and this is an unique experience" finished saying the Argentine player.
