Halifax, Canada, August 30, 2012 - On the first competition day of the SWATCH Juniors' World Championship 2012 held in Halifax the Argentine team of Lisandro Rouzic and Mateo Iwanowski obtaine a victory and a defeat qualifying for the first round of the competition organized by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
Rouzic-Iwanowski, first during the morning in a South American duel overcame the Chilean pair Roberto Frazzoni-Felipe Gómez 2-0 (21-18, 21-17) while on their second presentation they were defeated by the favourite and local pair of Ben chow-Mick Del Bianco 0-2 (13-21, 16-21) in the last presentation of the first date in Pool J that finished with three teams due to the absence of several international world teams.
With these results, the Argentine team finished on top of Pool J but there is still one more match to be played tomorrow Friday early in the morning between Canada and Chile to decide the final standing for the first round.
The Argentine delegation includes the talented young players and Santiago Etchegaray as coach and Jorge Torres as official in charge of the group.
