UPCN already qualified for the semi-finals in Chile

Buenos Aires, Argentina, September 6, 2012 - At the South American Clubs Championships, UPCN in Chile at the men's qualified for semi-finals after adding its second consecutive victory while Boca Women's Team in Brazil finished winning the silver medal after being defeated by the strong host team of Sollys Osasco in the city of San Pablo this Thursday.

UPCN overcame in the city of Linares Carmelo Rowing Club, Uruguay champion by an easy 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-14) as on the first date that also was a straight set victory v Deportivo Colon - Paraguay.

Therefore, the team coached by Fabian Armoa, and two consecutive years Argentine champion already confirmed one of the semi-final berths as Sada Cruzeiro from Brazil, also coached by another Argentine coach, Marcelo Mendez. This Friday both teams will face each other on the final match of their Pool. Semi-Finals will take place this Saturday while the final match and the ticket for Qatar will be played on Sunday.

On the side of the Women teams, the two strongest rivals of the four faced each other. Boca and Sollys arrived undefeated after they faced Universidad Catolica - Bolivia and Deportivo Venezuela - Paraguay.

Sollys Osasco, with five of their players as Olympic Champions in London (Jaqueline, Sheilla, Thaisa, Adenizia andernanda Garay) could not be overcome by the Argentine best team, also champion of their league for two consecutive years by 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-9) winning the South American Women Clubs Championship and becoming the continent representative at the World Clubs Championship in Qatar.
