Giorgi overcomes without any problems the Paraguayan blocking

Lima, Peru, October 21, 2012 - With an unquestionable victory ended the first round of the Argentine Seniors' participation at their South American Championship held in the city of Lima this Saturday over Paraguay by 3-0 (25-8, 25-6, 25-8). They finished third on this preliminary round with no chances of qualifying for semi-finals. This Sunday and Monday the light blue - white jersey team will play for the fifth place.

The Argentine team was defeated on the first two dates by Brazil and Colombia, teams that qualify for semi-finals and a place (three at stake) for the 2013 World Championship. Brazil and Colombia faced each other this Saturday for the first place at the Pool in a vey hard match won by the verdeamarelas 3-1.

In semi-finals together with Brazil and Colombia will be the host team of Peru (ended first in their pool) and Chile - the surprise team of this championship that overcame on the first date Venezuela with a terrific tie-breaker. The definitions for the final match are Brazil v Chile and Peru v Colombia.

Argentina will play v Paraguay, Venezuela and Uruguay for the fifth to eigth places. The first engagement for the Argentine girls will be to face Uruguay this Sunday in the "classical" Silver River (Rio de la Plata) this Sunday at 21.00 Argentine time, 19.00 in Peru. On the other match Venezuela will face Paraguay.
