Ramos showing a great level v Iran

Betim, Brazil, October 18, 2013 - UPCN San Juan Vóley obtained its third consecutive victory at the FIVB World Clubs Championship 2013 that takes place in the Brazilian city of Betim overcoming Kalleh from Iran 3-0 (26-24, 25-22, 25-23) in a very tied match. Aside from the result of today's match Trentino v Panasonic, UPCN finished top of Pool A and stands among the best four teams of the World. UPCN from San Juan will play v the team that finishes second in Pool B on the second match of Saturday (Lokomotiv v Sfaxien close Pool B). Their semi-final match will take place at 18.00 local time.

Kalleh surprised at the beginning of the first set leading by four points in the middle of the set but UPCN showing its regular concentration started to show its best output levelling the set 21-21. Kalleh got the first set ball but Armoa called on his players and with Ramos equalling Theo found set ball and Olteanu blocking over Hossinabadi closed the set 26-24.

Nothing changed on the second set, with Iran leading and San Juan fighting from behind to find the victory by three point difference. On the third one, it was UPCN that started leading but Iran coming from behind also levelled the set and as it happened in the first two sets the fight ball after ball was won by the minimum difference by the Argentine team that reaches semi-final undefeated.
