BUENOS AIRES AND SANTA FE ARE THE NEW U 14 CHAMPIONS

Buenos Aires, Argentina, August 2, 2013 - With a very highly positive balance finished the new U 14 National Championship, held for both genders in Entre Rios province. The boys' competition took place in Chajari with Buenos Aires Province Team overcoming in a very intensive match Metropolitan to celebrate its first crown in the new FeVA period, while San Juan obtain the bronze medal. Among the girls' competition, the gold crown was won by Santa Fe, that overcame Cordoba 3-0 in the city of Colon. The Bronze Medal was for the home team of Entre Rios.

In a morning that started rainy, matches did not stop in Chajari. While the teams were obtaining results for afternoon final matches, in Velez and Santa Rosa took place at the same time, the semi-finals. At the main venue, Metropolitan got perfect result over Cordoba to reach the final match without losing a single set.

On the other semi-final Buenos Aires Province team overcame San Juan 3-1 after losing the first set. They won confidence slowly and put their utmost even though at the end their nerves showed out.

Prior to this match, the other ones took place with Mendoza winning the ninth place after fighting a tiebreaker over Formosa while Santa Fe finished seventh over Chaco and Rio Negro overcame the host team of Entre Rios for the fifth place. The Bronze was fought between San Juan - winner - over Cordoba.

the definition of the competition took place as any League match with all the official formula, lots of audience and with two very young teams giving their utmost. Each team won one of the first two sets and the third was clue for Buenos Aires Province Team victory (27-25) after a great recovery of Metropolitan. Buenos Aires city team showed that the fight was going on taking the match to a terrific tiebreaker. The champion good performance of Echeverry, Ferrarri and Pascual gave them the celebration.

Girls' competition:

Another crown for Santa Fe

This Friday also finished the U 14 National Championship for the girls with Santa Fe winning the crown after defeating Cordoba 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-18). The home team of Entre Rios won the Bronze Medal while Martina Larroca, from Buenos Aires province was chosen the MVP.

Also in an early raining morning Semi-Final matches took place in La Armonia and La Union. Santa Fe faced Entre Rios wwinning very easily 3-0, the same result they obtained v Mendoza.

On the other semi-final match Cordoba and Buenos Aires province faced each other. It was won in a very tight match by Cordoba 3-2 and this time they were getting the revenge after losing the 2012 final v the Metropolitan.

On the prior matches, Metro and Chaco overcame San Juan and Mendoza respectively for the fifth place. Metro recovered and obtained the second victory of the day. Neuquen obtained the ninth place while San Luis finished eleventh.

Entre Rios and Buenos Aires prov. played for the Bronze Medal won by the host team 3-1.

The definition match was played at La Armonia with Santa Fe overcoming quite easily Cordoba 3-0.
