MOSCOW GRAND SLAM: TWO TIED MATCHES FOR THE ARGENTINE GIRLS

Tied matches for the Argentine girls in Russia

Moscow, Russia, August 22, 2013 - With two matches, Ana Gallay-Georgina Klug started the Moscow FIVB Grand Slam in the city of Moscow at the Main Draw. Even though they were defeated in levelled matches in both cases v Brazil Maestrini-Seixas and the Swiss Zumkehr-Heidrich, the Argentine team still has chances of qualifying for the first round depending on their result of the Pool third match.

At their debut the rivals were the Brazilian Lili Maestrini-Bárbara Seixas [4] and top team of Pool D. The favourite team overcame Gallay-Klug 0-2 (14-21, 21-23). The light blue - white team reacted on the second set but it was not enough to force a tie-breaker definition.

In the afternoon they faced the Swiss Nadine Zumkehr-Joana Heidirch, in a tie-breaker match with the European girls winning 2-1 (21-19, 17-21, 15-8).

The Argentine pair still has the chance of participating of the first round depending on the result of the match v the other Swiss team of the pool, Goricanec-Hüberli. They need a 2-0 victory and do not depend on the result of the other match of the pool.
