Argentina and Brazil will clash in the 3rd day in Peru

Ica, Peru, September 10, 2013 - The Peruvian city of Ica turned out to be the next destination for the Argentinean Women's Senior Team. From September 18th to 22nd, the light-blue and white team coached by Guillermo Orduna will play there at the South American Championship, which represents the first qualification tournament towards 2014 World Championship to be held in Italy. Six countries will attend the competition: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Venezuela and hosts Peru.

The tournament will send the winner straight to Italy, after a round-robin pool which will be fulfilled along a five-days schedule.

Argentina will begin its campaign on Wednesday 18th against Colombia, at 5 PM (local time). Afterwards, on each game day, the girls will face Venezuela (Thursday, 3 PM), Brazil (Friday, 5 PM), Peru (Saturday, 6 PM) and the closing match against Chile (Sunday, 1 PM).

However, the light-blue and white squad is already looking further ahead from the continental tournament. The South American qualification tournament to be held in Argentinean soil represents the most important opportunity for the team to achieve its comeback to the World Championships, with another berth on stake. The list of participating teams will take shape after the tournament in Peru.
