Buenos Aires, Argentina, October 1, 2013 - After winning the Gold Medal in the four-tam friendly competition in Moron this last weekend, the U 23 Argentine Men Team started today the second tournament at Hector Etchart de Ferro stadium in the city of Buenos Aires facing in a terrific tie-breaker Australia, that also prepares itself for next week first ever U 23 World Championship in Brazil.

After Russia defeated Iran, Australia overcame Argentina 2-3 (21-18, 23-21, 20-22, 20-22, 14-16). Pablo Kukartsev was Argentine top scorer with 21 rallies while Lincoln Williams, the best player of the match scored 27. Argentina will play tomorrow Wednesday at 21.30 Iran for the Bronze Medaal at the same venue while Russia and Australia will face each other at 19.00 for the Gold Medal.

The host team could not overcome the great reaction coming from behind of Australia in a very tied match. All sets were played to the best of 21 rallies as decided by the International Volleyball Federation for next World Championship. Alejandro Grossi as head coach made some changes to try his players while playing such important and level match.

This Wednesday it will be the last match in the country that will travel on Friday towards Uberlandia, the venue in Brazil where all the matches will take place. The competition starts on Sunday with Argentina facing in the preliminary round Tunisia, Brazil, the Dominican Republic and Egypt in Pool A.
