FREYRE AND CIUDAD ARE THE NEW CHAMPIONS OF THE U 16 ARGENTINE CUP

Freyre celebrating their title without a single defeat

Chapadmalal, Argentina, October 3, 2013 - This Thursday ended in the town of Chapadmalal a new Argentine Cup. After the time of the first U 23, and the U 18, it was the time for the U 16 with Freyre winning the girls' title after overcoming Sociedad Española and Ciudad de Buenos Aires getting the title after defeating Obras de San Juan. Camila Hiruela and Jan Martinez became the MVP of the competition. After one day rest comes the last official national competition of the year, organized by the FeVa, the U 14 Cup in the same venue the others were played.

The last date of the U 16 started very early at about 8.00 and lasted until after mid night due to the successful quantity of teams participating of the same from all over the country. At the semi-finals at the girls' cup, Sociedad Española played a great level match v Boca and repeated the result of the preliminary round 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 2-15) qualifying for the final match after their recent new title at the U 18 Argentine Cup.

The other semi-final match was a very fought one between Freyre and San Jose with both teams showing ups and downs. Entre Rios team was winning the fifth set 11-5 but Cordoba reacted and with outstanding output celebrated a final won 15-13.

At the boys' cup, Obras de San Juan had their best match of the competition v Villa Dora winning 3-0 (25-20, 25-23, 25-21) to qualify for third consecutive year to the final match. On the other semi-final Ciudad and Trinitarios showed a very tied match but the team of Buenos Aires city won arriving to the final match undefeated on the whole tournament.

At the same time all the other teams were playing their place. At the girls' the Silver cup was for Central San Carlos that overcame Huracan Recreo while for the boys, Azul celebrated over Banco Hispano. The Bronze Cup was von by the girls of Tunuyan de Mendoza and the boys of Santa Teresita. The Copper Cup of the girls was won by Balcarce.

On the Gold Cup, Nautico Avellaneda won its two matches of the day finishing fifth and Velez girls did the same defeating UNSJ and Charata. The boys podium was completed with Villa Dora and the girls by Boca.
