ARGENTINE A1 WOMEN LEAGUE: SECOND WEEKEND RESULTS

Boca is still undefeated

Buenos Aires, Argentina, November 18, 2013 - This weekend went on the third round of the Argentine A1 Seniors' Women League, the most important national competition for Women Teams organized together by the Argentine Volleyball Federation (FeVA) and the Argentine Volleyball Teams League Association (ACLAV). At this point, only three teams keep undefeated.

At Pool A, the only undefeated team is Velez Sarsfield topping the pool after the victories in Bahia Blanca over Olimpo and in Mar del Plata over Mar Chiquita. Second, also with 12 points stands San Lorenzo, that travelled to Mendoza to play adding victories over two Entre Rios Teams, San Jose and Echague.

In those three venues, all the action took place with Gimnasia y Esgrima de la Plata also celebrating and now standing in the third ranked place of the pool adding two consecutive victories.

In Pool B topping not only the pool but scoring the most points of all teams stands San Martin de Formosa. The girls from the north of the country after two victories in Tucuman add 14 points, even though they played two more matches than the second ranked team, Boca, that only played against Estudiantes winning 3-1 to keep undefeated with three matches played. Villa Dora and Gimnasia de Santa Fe also played an only match during this weekend, winning both by straight sets.

Next weekend, between Saturday November, 23th and Monday (national holiday), November 25th, the third weekend of this round will take place with matches to be played in Buenos Aires city (Velez Sarsfield and Boca venues), Santa Fe, Parana and Mar del Plata.
