Weber coached the team since the 2009 season

Buenos Aires, Argentina, December 24, 2013 - The Argentine Volleyball Federation (FeVA) officially announces that Javier Weber will leave coaching the Argentine Seniors' Men Team for the 2014 season. FeVA wants to thank the engagement, the professionalism and the outstanding ranking obtained by Weber at the international level coaching the most important Argentine Seniors' team, taking its time to analyse during the next days the best possible options for the team to keep on this growing path.

Javier Weber took charge of the coaching of the Argentine Seniors' in the year 2009, following the leadership of Jon Uriarte obtaining on his first year's job, the best ever, until that year, result at the FIVB World League, the premier competition for Seniors' Men Teams of the World, organized by the International Volleyball Federation (FeVA). Argentina in an unforgettable match at the overcrowded Aldo Cantoni Stadium in the city of San Juan obtained for first time in its history a place at the FIVB World League Final Round thanks to the results of the preliminary round, finishing that year in Serbia on the fifth place.

At the same competition, two years later, the Argentine Seniors' overcame their best ever result to finish qualifying among the best four teams and fought an incredible semi-final match against their "classical" South American rival, Brazil to finish in the fourth place in Gdansk, Poland. Argentina also coached by Weber twice organized the Final Round of this competition, showing an outstanding organizing level, once in Cordoba (2010) and the other in Mar del Plata (2013).

Also under the coaching of Weber, Argentina changed to a much younger team, showing its first great results in the year 2010 at the World Championship held in Italy where it obtained the 9th place. With most of the same young players the light blue - white jersey team returned to the Olympic Games held in London in the year 2012, where it also confirmed to be among the best eight teams of the world.

The confirmation of Argentina as second best team of South America, fighting at the same level as Brazil and with the qualification already obtained for Poland World Championship 2014 and the positive participation at Japan World Cup 2011 complete the great positive balance of Weber management heading the Argentine Seniors'.

FeVA will advise, as soon as decided, the steps that will follow the Argentine Teams, always with the goal of keeping growing and reconfirming their ranking at international level, the development of talented players and the presence at organizing international events that Argentina obtained and reinforced during these last years.
