Coronel Suarez, January 6, 2014 - This Saturday, January 5th & Sunday, 6th ended the first weekend of Beach Volleyball competitions in the city of Coronel Suarez. Next weekend, on Saturday 11th and 12the will take place one stop of the U 18 National Beach Volleyball Championship for both genders, supervised by the Argentine Volleyball Federation.

The best 10 Girls' and 10 Boys' teams of the country (invited) will participate of the same. The matches will take place on Saturday, January 11th at Centro Deportivo Sarmiento and Centro Blanco y Negro Swimming Complex while on Sunday action will move to the City Resort Samuel Davies for the final matches. The event is organized by the Sport Direction and the South East Volleyball Association.

The competition of this weekend took place at Deportivo Sarmiento and Centro Blanco y Negro with the AVSO Cup (qualifier for the U 18 National Stop) together with the Referee Clinic carried out by the international lecturer Martin Medina, that came from Mar del Plata and was organized by the South East Volleyball Association, the Sport Direction of Coronel Juarez and the Argentine Volleyball Federation.

The course - training of refereeing was carried out at Centro Deportivo Sarmiento facilities with an important number of AVSO Regional Referees and many volleyball fans listening to the lectures that took place along four very intensive hours with a very positive balance. All participants afterwards watched the matches that were taking place at the different competitions paying special attention to the participating referees.

In the afternoon, the Beach Volleyball AVSO Cup competition has an important number of registered pairs and took place at the same time in two fields. The corresponding awards to the winners will be handed out at the same time that the U 18 National competition takes place next weekend.

The competition in both genders was divided in two pools being played Pools A at Deportivo Sarmiento while Pools B took place at Blanco y Negro facilities. The preliminary matches were played to the best of one set to 25 points while the semi-finals and final matches were played to the best of five sets. The girls' were played at Centro Blanco y Negro while the boys' at Deportivo Sarmiento.

Also some friendly matches took place with four players on each team to join the athletes with fans, showing the audience a lot of interest in participating and competing. Therefore officials are thinking on keeping such important broadcasting events.
