Klug spiking on her way to semi-finals

Macae, Brazil, January 24, 2014 - If the first date of the South American Beach Volleyball Tour held in the Brazilian city of Macae was very positive for the Argentine teams, the second one was dazzling. Three of the four Argentine representatives on the first stop of the 2014 season qualified for semi-finals, that will take place this Sunday.

Pablo Bianchi-Facundo Del Coto again defeated a host team this Saturday showing an outstanding level. Even though the second Argentine Men's team finished overcome by the Brazilian Sabino-Gomes by a tied 1-2, the revenge was great. In Quarter-Finals, Bianchi-Del Coto eliminated Brazil 3 (Lima-Lima) without any questioning with a 2-0 (21-17, 21-15) victory.

On the other side, Iam Mehamed-Julian Azaad also showed a great output and the Argentine leaders in sand finished the first round with a great 2-0 (21-15, 21-6) over Bolivia Barrientos-Naim) and after the first match of the final rounds, eliminated the Brazilian Santos-Gaudine (fifth Brazilian ranked team) 2-0.

Therefore, this Sunday morning there will be a light blue - white semi-final match while on the other semi-final two host teams qualified among the best four teams of the competition and Gomes-Sabino will play v Francioni-Carvalhaes with the winners playing in the afternoon the great first South American Beach Volleyball Tour stop 2014.

At the women's competition, the Argentine Ana Gallay-Georgina Klug qualified among the best four teams and even though as Bianchi-Del Coto suffered a defeat on the last match of their pool v Lisboa-Ferreira from Brazil 1-2, they showed their utmost at Quarter-Final with a strong 2-0 (21-17, 21-7) over the best Uruguayan team of Lucia Guigou-Fabiana Gomez, qualifying for semi-finals.

Sunday expects them facing a very demanding match v Elize Maia-Fernanda Berti, the top ranked host teams and also the ones that defeated the last defeat to Alejandra Graiño-Virginia Zonta, the other Argentine women team that was eliminated in their Pool competition.
