Boca already among the best four teams of the competition

San Pablo, Brazil, February 7, 2014 - After two days of competition at the South American Women's Clubs Championship being held in San Pablo, Boca Juniors as Argentine representative already qualified as one of the semi-finalists, that gives its champion a berth for the World Championship to be held in Zurich, Switzerland. With victories over the Bolivian and Paraguay teams, the Argentine team already stands among the top two teams of Pool A.

In its debut, the Argentine Champion defeated Union Metropolitana from Asuncion 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-12) with an outstanding output of Carla Castiglione, player that belonged to the grass-root Argentine teams that scored 11 points.

On Thursday, Boca celebrated its victory over Universitario San Francisco Xavier from Bolivia, overcoming it also by a clear 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-11). This time the middle players Victoria Zabala and Natalia Aispurua, also with a background wearing the light blue - white jersey, scored 12 and 13 points respectively.

This Friday, Boca will close its participation at the preliminary round facing the World title holder and host team of Osasco. On the other Pool B, the Brazilian SESI-SP and the Peruvian of Liga Nacional also qualified among the best four teams and now wait their last match to decide how semi-finals will take place.

The team coached by Eduardo Allona travelled together with Facundo Leal in charge of the statistics of the team and plays with the same players that won the Argentine Women A1 League 2013: Clarisa Sagardia and Victoria Camerano as setters; Micaela Fabiani and Carla Castiglione as opposite players; Natalia Espinosa, Natalia Aispurua and Victoria Zabala as middle players; Tatiana Rizzo, Maria Angeles Cossar, Eugenia Nosach and the captain Romina Cossar as wing spikers and Carolina Hartmann as libero.
