SOUTH AMERICAN WOMEN'S CLUB CHAMP: BOCA WON THE BRONZE MEDAL

Boca obtained the third place at the South American Championship

San Pablo, Brazil, February 9, 2014 - Boca Juniors fulfilled their goal at the South American Women's Club Championship in San Pablo as Argentine A1 League Champion overcoming Peru's Liga Nacional 3-0 winning the Bronze Medal and only surpassed by Brazil.

Boca, the last Argentine Champion at the ACLAV A1 Women's League, competition organized together by the FeVA and ACLAV arrived to the final round as second team in Pool A with two victories over Paraguay and Bolivia.

In its debut, it defeated Union Metropolitana from Asunción 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-12) with an outstanding output of Carla Castiglione. On Thursday, Boca also overcame Universitario San Francisco Xavier from Bolivia with the same result of three straight sets (25-16, 25-18, 25-11). On that match the middle players Victoria Zabala and Natalia Aispurua were the top players. At the closing match of the first round, Boca was defeated by the powerful Osasco Molico/Nestle, team leaded by the Olympic Sheilla Castro by 0-3 (17-25, 19-25, 18-25).

This Saturday, at one of the semi-finals once more it was defeated by one of the strongest Brazilian team, SESI from San Pablo by 0-3 (11-25, 13-25, 18-25).

After two defeats the Argentine champion, Boca recovered their path and won the third place at the Podium after defeating Liga Nacional 3-0 (26-24, 25-15, 25-18) with Mariangeles Cossar topping the score for the Argentine team with 13 points.

The team coached by Eduardo Allona (together with Facundo Leal in statistics) travelled to Brazil with Clarisa Sagardia and Victoria Camerano as setters; Micaela Fabiani and Castiglione as opposite players; Natalia Espinosa; Aispurua and Zabala as middle players; Tatiana Rizzo, Mariangeles Cossar, Eugenia Nosach and the captain Romina Cossar as wing spikers and the libero Carolina Hartmann.
