New semi-final for Bianchi-Del Coto

Lima, Peru, March 2,, 2014 - Once more Argentina participates among the best four teams of a South American Tour stop, this time in the city of Santiago with Bianchi-Del Coto at the men's competition and Ana Gallay-Georgina Klug at the women's showing the great development of the light blue - white teams after winning a double gold medal in Viña del Mar, Chile.

The formula of the Continental competition takes into account the country's representation and not the pairs ranking.

After a great start of international Beach Volleyball season for Gallay-Klug, the pair has shown once more their utmost towards winning a new Gold Medal. They closed the preliminary round with a victory over the very talented Andrea and Claudia Galindo from Colombia by 2-0 and then in Quarter-Finals they did not have any problems defeating their rivals Mardones-Velez from Chile to celebrate another 2-0 match. In Semi-Final they will face from Venezuela Agudo-Brito.

The other Argentine Women pair, Virginia Zonta-Julieta Puntin were eliminated in the preliminary round even though they overcame this Saturday in the last match Serna-Castillo from Peru.

On the men's tournament, both Argentine pairs qualified for Quarter-Finals. Bianchi-Del Coto finished second in their Pool after a very hard 2-1 over the host team of Castillo-Williams while Ian Mehamed-Julian Azaad also finished second in their Pool overcome in the last match by Vilafañe-Hernandez from Venezuela also 1-2.

Quarter-finals results was one victory and one defeat. Bianchi-Del Coto qualified for Semi-Final after defeating Fayola-Colina from Venezuela while Mehamed-Azaad faced the best Chilean team, the cousins Marco-Esteban Grimalt and were eliminated.

This Sunday morning the Argentine team will have their revenge v Villafañe-Hernandez with the winner qualifying for the Great Final match.
