San Luis, Argentina, March 9, 2014 - With a great emotive event for Priscila Ochoa and Agustin Irustia closed the 6th Stop of the Argentine National Beach Volleyball Tour at Ave Fenix Complex in the city of San Luis. With the presence of relatives of the two very talented volleyball players, province authorities as the Sport Ministry Arnaldo Lastra and the Province Deputy Bartolome Abdala, players, officials, referees, friends and a crowded audience, closed a date just two months after the lighting tragedy of Villa Gesell full of emotion and lots of very good volleyball paying tribute to those athletes.

Bad weather did not allow the competition to end as programmed

Due to the National Beach Volleyball Tour suspension (see below), friendly matches took place at the indoor stadium of Ave Fenix Stadium with the participation of Fabio Irustia (father of Agustin and President of the San Luis Volleyball Federation) and Fabian Ochoa (father of Priscila and National Referee) that also worked managing the beach volleyball competition. After the matches, many of the beach volleyball teams decided to stay for the closing ceremony, with trophies given to the National Champions of each year, that will be kept at San Luis Volleyball Federation headquarters.

A group of players and friends of Agustin and Priscila gave their relatives the jerseys of the Champions that the FeVA gives as award to the champions of each stop. At the same time the Sport Ministry, Arnaldo Lastra boosted the date programmed in San Luis for next season. "I hope we can keep this stop that carries out an outstanding and beautiful tribute" expressed the official.

FeVA and the San Luis Volleyball Federation agreed on locating a Beach Volleyball Development Centre at Ave Fenix, with the engagement also of building a third field. Jose Maria Cuadrillero, Coordinator of the Beach Volleyball National Secretariat, gave playing balls and predicted the great job that this new Development Centre will carry out, that will include training in charge of the World Champion, Mariano Baracetti.

SUSPENSION OF THE COMPETITION

The 6th stop of the Argentine National Beach Volleyball Tour in San Luis had to be stopped due to bad weather and heavy raining, deciding a formula to give points to those teams remaining in the competition. Once the suspension was decided from the second round of losers, the players and the organization staff decided an agreed formula to give the points to each team.

The teams still competing added the points corresponding to the level they reached at this competition till it was stopped. The other points were given to each pair respectively as they stood on their way to the title.
