Unquestionable victory for Azaad-Mehamed in their debut

Santiago, Chile, March 13, 2014 - With good start opened the Argentine delegation their beach volleyball matches at the 10th South American Games being held in Santiago. The two top Argentine Teams, Anna Gallay-Georgina Klug (women's) and Julian Azaad-Ian Mehamed (men's) started with victories. Julieta Puntin-Virginia Zonta lost their first match v Gallay-Klug while Pablo Bianchi-Facundo Del Coto fought hard with the premier pair of Brazil, the historical Alison-Emanuel.

Both Argentine Women's teams faced each other in Pool D on the opening match with Gallay-Klug winning 2-0 (21-12, 21-15). In the same Pool, Batioja-Vilela (ECU) overcame Valiente-Cardozo (PAR).

Mehamed-Azaad, that already won a Gold Medal in Chile at the stop of the South American Tour in Viña del Mar, started once more a successful path with a good 2-0 (21-10, 21-12) over Lo Kioeng-Sporkslede from Surinam, also in Pool D but at the men's competition. At the same Pool stand the Brazilian Pedro-Bruno (that finished fourth at Corrientes Grand Slam 2013 among other good results) and the second host team, Martinez-Salinas.

Bianchi-Del Coto in their debut suffered the experience and power of Alison-Emanuel in the first set, but on the second they fought fore to finish very near of one of the best teams of the World. The final result was the victory for Brazil 2-0 (21-14, 23-21) in Pool B. The other two teams are Cairus-Zanotta (URU) and Maldonado-Maldonado (ECU).
