Lima, Peru, May 4, 2014 - With success and under a terrific hot day with sun, in Agua Dulce de Corrillos took place the second they of the 5th stop of the Youth's Olympic Games Nanjing 2014 Qualifier for beach volleyball pairs with great success of the Argentine delegation.

The competing pairs come from Peru, Paraguay, Ecuador, Uruguay, Bolivia, Brazil, Venezuela and for Argentina Irene Verasio-Camila Hiruela (champions in Venezuela last week) with the girls already in semi-finals that will take place this Sunday morning.

This Saturday all teams were looking forward to qualifying among the best four pairs and participate of semi-final matches as first goal to add as many possible points for the Olympic competition. On the side of the Women's, Brazil pair Ramalho-Hoffmann stand unbeaten after overcoming Uruguay Peixoto-Rotti 2-0 (2-15, 21-12), Bolivia Vargas-Maida 2-0 (21-16, 21-9) and Argentina Hiruela/Verasio also 2-0 (21-16, 21-13).

With this result Argentina lost their first match in this competition. Irene Verasio pointed out that it is important to keep calm and secure. "In the last stop Brazil did not participate but we must keep concentrated and with the head high to give our utmost and repeat last weekend's performance in Venezuela".

At the Men's side, Brazil also shone with Lanci-Souto overcoming the host team of Hernandez-Gomez 2-0 (21-17, 21-19) and in their second clash defeated Paraguay Bogarin-Frutos also by 2-0 (21-16, 21-15).

Finally the bracket for this Sunday has on the women's side Brazil, Ramalho-Hoffman that will face Paraguay, Valiente-Ocampos and Argentina, Hiruela-Verasio v Uruguay, Vieyto-Cairus as on the side of the men's semi-finals the team of Brazil, Lanci-Souto will play v Argentina, Aveiro-Leon while the host team of Venezuela, Hernandez-Gomez will play v Uruguay, Rotti/Peixoto, all starting at 10.00.
