Mendoza, Argentina, May 27, 2014 - The Argentine Volleyball Federation, through out its President, Juan Antonio Gutierrez, gave this Saturday prior to the first match of the 1st weekend of the FIVB World League between Argentina and France in the city of Mendoza a recognition award to UPCN San Juan that obtained the third place - Bronze Medal - at the FIVB World Clubs Championship, the first ever medal won by an Argentine Club at that competition.

The short ceremony was carried out by Gutierrez together with Juan Galeote, FeVA Treasurer and FeVA 5th Vice-President, Celia Montaruli receiving the important award UPCN President, Jose "Pepe" Villa and its coach, Fabian Armoa.

"It is with great pride for all Argentine Volleyball the job and training that UPCN de San Juan has carried out along the last years, crowned now with this third outstanding place at the most important World competition for the best clubs of the Globe" expressed the President Gutierrez.

UPCN San Juan obtained the Bronze Medal in Belho Horizonte, Brazil beginning May after defeating the former Giant Champion of the World and host team of Sada Cruzeiro, also coached by an Argentine Coach, Marcelo Mendez.

Four San Juan team players are part of the Argentine Seniors' Men Team 2014, coached by Julio Velasco: Javier Filardi (captain of the light blue - white team named by the new coach), the middle player Martin Ramos, the setter Demian Gonzalez and the libero Sebastian Garroq.
