PAN-AMERICAN CUP FOR THE ARGENTINE SENIORS' LAS PANTERAS

Buenos Aires, Argentina, Jun 5, 2014 - The coach of the Argentine Seniors' “Las Panteras” Guillermo Orduna gave the official roster for the Pan-American Women Cup that will take place in Mexico, June 9th - 15th and qualifies for the FIVB Grand Prix 2015, the premier annual competition organized by the International Volleyball Federation for National Women Teams.

The main goals of this competition are as every year to qualify for the FIVB Grand Prix as Argentina has been doing consecutively since its debut in the year 2011 and to keep growing towards this year' World Championship in Italy.

The official roster includes:

Setters: Yael Castiglione - Antonela Curatola

Opposite players: Leticia Boscacci - Tanya Acosta

Middle players: Emilce Sosa - Florencia Busquets - Natalia Aispurua

Wing spikers: Yamila Nizetich - Josefina Fernandez - Sol Piccolo - Elina Rodriguez

Libero: Tatiana Rizzo

“The main idea of this roster is to widen the volleyball players with international experience and then we will have more option in each place for the Argentine National Seniors' Women Team. We improved the training level all together because the new players are prepared for all demanding international engagements and the ones that were already in the team grew a lot" expressed the coach Guillermo Orduna.

Then he added: "At the FIVB Grand Prix, we will also have the chance to compete with players not included at the Pan-American Cup and evaluating each of them in both competition we will gather the final group that will compete at the World Championship in Italy".

Meanwhile the Captain of the team, Yamila Nizetich added: "We have a lot of combinations and chances to try to settle a team that stands for the World Championship level. I saw great outputs since I arrived to the team. I believe that 'Las Panteras' grew a lot and we want to show a new and much better playing level".

The coach and the Captain visited this Thursday the Lomas de Zamora state-of-the-arts new Stadium that will host for first time in Argentina a FIVB Grand Prix weekend, August 8th-9th-10th with the local Argentina facing Canada, Peru and Cuba.

"We dream on overcrowding this great Stadium and be able to win matches with the support of our people, it is a great chance we want to make good use of" finished saying Nizetich.
