Cordoba dominated on the final match winning undefeated the championship

Chaco, Argentina, June 7, 2014 - This Friday ended the U 16 National Championship held in Chaco with Cordoba winning for the first time the boy's Championship overcoming in the Great Final match Metropolitan 3-0 ending the competition undefeated with Santa Fe winning the Bronze Medal after a very demanding and strong match v Tucuman. The girls' gold was for Santa Fe over Buenos Aires Province Team in a tied 3-1 match. Cordoba won the Bronze Medal over the host Chaco.

Boys' Competition:

During the morning took place both semi-finals. First Cordoba twice lead v Tucuman but the definition was settled in a very hard tied tie-breaker that finished 15-13. Metropolitan, meanwhile, twice stood behind playing v Santa Fe but also in a very fought tie-break that showed the utmost of both teams gave the Capital city the victory in a terrific fifth set that finished 26-24.

Early in the afternoon all the other ranked places were played first. San Juan overcame Corrientes and Rio Negro 3-0 and 3-2 respectively to finish fifth while at Regatas facilities another tie-breaker gave Santa Fe the celebration for the third place in another terrific tie-breaker over Tucuman that finished 22-20 showing both teams on their best match.

The ninth place was won by La Pampa (winning the three matches) while Mendoza that overcame Buenos Aires province team ended in the tenth place. Formosa overcame Entre Rios 3-1 to win the 13th place.

Short after 16.00 started the great final between Cordoba and Buenos Aires city teams. First Buenos Aires got the lead but as soon as Cordoba found its path nothing could stop them and they finished the competition with 100 percent efficiency not losing a single match.

Girls' competition:

Santa Fe overcame Cordoba at the semi-final match and Buenos Aires province on the Great Final to win the Gold Medal

The last day of competition, started very early with semi-finals. Santa Fe at Club Universitario facilities overcame Cordoba 3-1 (25-20, 25-19, 16-25, 25-23) while at Hindu facilities Buenos Aires Province Team overcame the host team of Chaco by the same 3-1 (25-16, 25-17, 22-25, 26-24).

Corrientes meanwhile finished 15th, La Pampa 14th, Catamarca 13th while San Juan defeating Formosa 3-1 and Neuquen over Rio Negro 3-0 made San Juan finished 9th while Formosa 10th, Neuquen 11th and Rio Negro 12th. Then came the matches for the upper places with Metropolitan and Entre Rios overcoming Tucuman and Mendoza respectively 3-1 and Metro then overcame Entre Rios to finish 5th.

Cordoba finished winning the Bronze Medal over Chaco 3-1 (25-13, 23-25, 25-21, 25-13) and then came the time for the Great Final in Club Hindu facilities.

Santa Fe overcame Buenos Aires even though the last started leading the match winning the Gold Medal 3-1.
