Crowded stadium to see Argentina v Brazil

La Pampa, Argentina, June 11, 2014 - Outstanding start for the Argentine Juniors' in a very demanding friendlies tour v Brazil with the first match played in the city of Santa Rosa at Club Estudiantes with the boys overcoming in the "classical" South American match 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-18). The tour went on the following day with the second match at the same capital city of the Province.

It was the first of a friendly match tour of four matches for the team coached by Alejandro Grossi that chose the following players for the starting line-up: Matias Sanchez (setter), German Hohansen (opposite player), Joaquin Gallego and from La Pampa Gaston Fernandez (middle players), Ramiro Nielson and Brian Melgarejo (wing spikers) and Michele Verasio as libero. Melgarejo, from Formosa topped the score with 12 rallies.

Also from the bench were included Sebastian Moreno, Edgar Vieira, Nicolas Lazo, Matias Miranda and Franco Caceres.

For the joy of the audience both teams agreed to play two more sets to keep working on their training and development with a final result of 1-1 in these not official matches. Brazil won the first one 22-25 and Argentina the second 25-18.

The victory of Argentina over Brazil is very important because in the background of the matches played by both countries (when these Seniors' were U-Youth's and Youth's) all victories were for Brazil. This time, Brazil came with their official team being absent only the wing spiker Douglas, that works with the Seniors'.

The tour has moved La Pampa since the prior Thursday, when both teams started training in the city followed by a Press Conference to present both teams.

While the second match took place on Wednesday the teams trained on Thursday and played the other two teams on Friday and Saturday.
