Argentina defeated for second consecutive time Brazil in La Pampa

La Pampa, Argentina, June 12, 2014 - Coming from behind in a very demanding match, the Argentine Seniors' Men Team overcame Brazil in the second match of a series of friendlies played in Santa Rosa on Wednesday night. The team coached by Alejandro Grossi lost the first set with the second one being very tied but they could celebrate with a victory 3-1 (19-25, 27-25, 25-22, 25-19) to put the series 2-0 for the light blue - white team.

Brazil started showing their utmost but Argentina grew along the match with the incoming from the bench of Brian Melgarejo, that once more was the top scorer with 18 rallies. On the side of Brazil, the opposite player Madaloz scored 16 rallies.

Then to end the match training work both teas played a fifth set changing players with the victory of Brazil 25-18.

This time the starting line-up of Argentina included Matias Sanchez, German Johansen as opposite players, Joaquin Gallego and Gaston Fernandez as middle players, Ramiro Nielson and Nicolas Lazo as wing spikers and Sebastian Moreno as libero. Also were included Melgarejo, Gaspar Bittar, Bruno Lima, Agustin Cáceres, Edgar Vieira and Santiago Danani, this last one also as libero giving the coaching team the chance of evaluating all players in the field in an international "classical" match.

On Thursday both teams will only train in Santa Rosa while on Friday they will play the third match again at Club Estudiantes at 20.30. On Saturday, on the closing date of the tour, the coach Grossi will give a lecture at the Main Hall of the City Government.
