Good output of Josefina Fernande

Mexico DF, Mexico, June 18, 2014 - Argentina can celebrate very much at the 13th Pan-American Cup. First they qualified for the World Grand Prix 2015 (for fifth consecutive year) and they finish being the best South American Team but now added to this great balance they qualified for Semi-Finals, meaning they are at least, one of the best four teams of the competition for second consecutive year, after defeating Cuba 3-1 (25-23, 23-25, 25-20, 25-19).

Argentina's Semi-Final Rival will be the strong Dominican Republic, that finished on toop of Pool A qualifying directly to Semi-Finals without any need of playing Quarter-Finals (as Argentina v Cuba) while on the other semi-final match USA will face Puerto Rico, eliminating in quarter-final Canada that showed a great performing level in the Preliminary Round.

Even though Argentina showed a great team level with high scoring all the way, Leticia Boscacci and Josefina Fernandez were the stars of the match topping each the score with 18 rallies. The income of Florencia Busquets, from the bench blocking was also a very positive performance.

On the side of Cuba, the middle-player Daymara Lescay topped her team score with 16 points, from which 7 were blocking. Alena Orta and Melissa Vargas added 13 rallies each.
