BERLIN BEACH GRAND SLAM WITH GALLAY-KLUG HUGE START

Gallay fights on the net against one of the Brazilian players

Berlin, Germany, June 18, 2014 - Amazing debut for Ana Gallay and Georgina Klug at the Main Draw of the Berlin Beach Volleyball Grand Slam, one of the stops of the FIVB World Tour. The Argentine girls that started directly at the Main Draw opened Pool F at the preliminary round overcoming Agatha-Seixas (BRA) and then celebrated over Frendrick-Seat (USA) to top the pool knowing that they qualified for the first or even the second round directly tomorrow afternoon. At the Men's Qualy also participated Julian Azaad-Pablo Bianchi.

The first match over the Brazilian pair [6] finished 2-1 (14-21, 21-16, 16-14) after a great recovery by the light blue - white team and a terrific tie-breaker. Gallay-Klug just a few days ago also overcame the German Borger-Büthe [6] in Moscow stop.

In their second presentation today Wednesday afternoon, the light blue - White pair faced Fendrick-Sweat from USA, that were also the second rival pair in Moscow but this time Gallay-Klug also overcame a bad result on the first set and won the match 2-1 (18-21, 21-17, 15-13).

This Thursday they will close playing in Pool F v Bieneck-Grossner from Germany topping the pool. The German pair lost both matches while the Argentine pair won both and they depend on themselves to keep on top of the pool and qualify directly for second round.

On the men's side, Azaad-Bianchi joint the Qualy (they were on waiting list) and started with a good victory over Kufa-Dumek of the Czech Republic 2-0 (21-17, 21-14) but on the second match of the Qualy they faced Doherty-Lucena (USA) [3] and in a very levelled match they were eliminated 0-2 (19-21, 18-21).
