ARGENTINE SENIORS' LAS PANTERAS ON THEIR WAY TO THE GRAND PRIX

Puerto Rico will be the host country for the first World Grand Prix weekend

Buenos Aires, Argentina, July 22, 2014 - A new international competition starts for the Argentine Seniors' Women Team "Las Panteras". This Tuesday morning, the team will travel towards the first weekend of the intercontinental round of the World Grand Prix 2014, in its fourth consecutive participation with Puerto Rico being the first venue.

This Monday, Las Panteras completed their training in Argentina at Cenard facilities, where all Argentine Volleyball Teams train. Guillermo Orduna, head coach gave the roster for the first two weekends away from home with the following players:

Setters: Yael Castiglione - Antonela Curatola
Opposite players: Leticia Boscacci - Lucía Fresco
Middle players: Natalia Aispurua, Florencia Busquets, Julieta Lazcano
Wing spikers: Yamila Nizetich, Josefina Fernandez, Tanya Acosta, Elina Rodriguez
Libero: Lucia Gaido

These players will participate of the first two weekends of the World Grand Prix, first in Carolina, Puerto Rico and then to Europe, Leuven, Belgium for the second weekend. The third one, will be historical as Argentina will host for the first time one weekend of the premier annual International Volleyball Federation competition for Women's national teams. it will take place at the new state-of-the-arts Lomas de Zamora Stadium.

the Argentine Las Panteras will face this weekend Puerto Rico home team, then Cuba and the Netherlands, respectively from Friday to Sunday.

As it happened with the FIVB World League 2014 the FIVB changed the number of countries participating - now 28 - divided in three levels with Argentina standing on the second. Argentina looks forwards to qualifying for the Final Round in Poland but also in hard training and winning international experience to get ready for the great engagement of the year, the World Championship to be carried out in Italy next September.
