Puerto Rico, the host country will be Argentine first rival at this World Grand Prix 2014

Carolina, Puerto Rico, July 25, 2014 - Today's debut for the Argentine Seniors' Women Team means its fourth consecutive participation at the World Grand Prix 2014. Las Panteras will face the home town of Puerto Rico at 21.10 (Argentine time) in the new FIVB formula that includes twenty eight teams divided in three levels with the light blue - white girls standing on the second one.

Argentina will play the second match of the opening day of the first weekend of the Intercontinental Round facing this Saturday Cuba and on Sunday, the Netherlands.

Talking to Agencia Telam news Guillermo Orduna, the head coach made a previous balance of the rivals of this weekend: "Puerto Rico is always a hard team because it has many very experienced players that play and they have a very good level. Cuba is changing players but has power and a lot of good result's history. The Netherlands, we have not faced them every but their big and tall body helps them to play good volleyball. There are several playing at the Italian A1 League or at the Turkish, that are the best European Leagues".

The national team on the first two weekends away from home - the second one will take place in Belgium - will miss Emilce Sosa and Sol Piccolo, both injured but looking forward to recover prior to the third weekend that will take place for the first time in history in Argentina at the new state-of-the-arts Lomas de Zamora stadium.

With Argentina returning to participate at the World Championship (last time it was in Germany 2002) the team will make good use of the World Grand Prix, where in two editions obtained great victories over very powerful teams to prepare themselves for the Italian engagement, added to the fact that it more it faces the best teams of the world, it improves and growths its performances.
