Argentina will play first friendly matches v Canada

Buenos Aires, Argentina, July 29, 2014 - Argentina will return soon to playing international matches starting with friendlies prior to the World Championship that will take place in Poland. During the first days of August they will face Canada in Argentina with Mar del Plata being the main venue.

It will be the first of a series of friendly matches of the team coached by Julio Velasco in their hard training to reach Poland to their utmost in the most important international competition of the year. The team returned to training beginning of July and will keep working during this week at Cenard facilities until the friendly matches start.

Canada is arriving to Argentina this Friday, August 1st and on the same day they will play a friendly match against the support Argentine team that keeps working without stop to help the main Argentine Seniors' and the Canadian in their preparation for the World Championship.

On Sunday morning the light blue - white team will travel to Mar del Plata, where the finals of the FIVB World League 2013 took place in a wonderful party. Three matches will take place at this resort beach city starting on Monday, August 4th and finishing on Wednesday, August 6th.

The matches of Monday and Wednesday will take place at 22.00 live broadcast by TyC Sports Channel while on Tuesday they will play earlier in the afternoon.

Then, they will return on Thursday to Buenos Aires, where some friendly matches - to be confirmed - could take place at Cenard facilities with Canada playing with different combination of the Argentine large Seniors' group athletes.

After playing v Canada, Argentina will travel to Brazil on Monday, August 11th to train at Saquarema facilities and play some friendly matches with the host country of Brazil, from Wednesday, August 13th to Friday, August 15th closing another strong training week.
