Porto, Portugal, July 30, 2014 - Santiago Aulisi-Leandro Aveiro started their participation at the U 19 Beach Volleyball World Championship with two victories in the first day on the previous competition to the Youth's Olympic Games Nanjing 2014. Now they stand with great chances of qualifying for the next round while Camila Hiruela-Irene Verasio international experience started with two defeats.

At the men's Pool C, the pair from Mar del Plata and Mendoza started with the right foot early in the morning. Aulisi-Aveiro opened the competition with a 2-0 (21-18, 21-13) victory over the Norway Aarrestad-Berntsen, best ranked team on the pool.

Then, in the afternoon, they also won with an ideal 2-0 (21-15, 21-15) over Albert-Ireland from Canada. Therefore they lead their Pool as the other undefeated pair from France lost one set on their way to the next round.

This Thursday, Aulisi-Aveiro will go on competing in the first round (five matches) v Belorussia and Poland pairs, respectively but the two victories and their leadership leave them nearly sure among the four top teams that qualify to go on.

For Hiruela-Verasio, with two victories in the matches left they will recover from the first day having the chance to go on in this competition. Wednesday started for the Argentine pair with a double 13-21 facing Bell-Kendall from Australia and their improvement in the second match of the day did not help them to win their first match. Bidzane-Alise from Latvia overcame them in a tie-breaker 1-2 (18-21, 24-22, 11-15).

Now on Thursday they will face the Russian Rudykh-Makroguzova and the Puerto Rico Cajigas-Bernier, two pairs that won at least one match on the first date.
