The first two sets showed parity up to 10-10 when the Canadian opposite player Schmitt took the leadership serving and spiking to win 18-25 and 21-25, with 13 rallies of Schmitt and 7 of Sole on the other side of the net.

On the third set the parity reached 8-10 with Canada showing an outstanding performance but with De Cecco and Gonzalez in the field replacing Uriarte and Darraidou and Ocampo instead of Filardi, gave Argentina the chance to level the set 16-16 and thereafter get the lead that would give them the first set victory to put the series 1-2.

Argentina went to the first TTO of the third set with one point advantage but then got a five point leadership 15-10 to win the third set and with confidence the fourth levelling the series 2-2 and forcing a tie-breaker.
