Mar del Plata, August 7, 2014 - A new training period for the Argentine Seniors' Men Team finished this evening towards their preparation for the Polish World Championship that will start next August 30th. This Wednesday evening, Argentina played the last of three friendlies v Canada at Islas Malvinas Stadium in the city of Mar del Plata battling a tie-breaker with ups and downs for both teams. The team coached by Julio Velasco was overcome 2-3 (25-21, 22-25, 17-25, 25-15, 11-15) with the series finishing 1-2.

This time, the top scorers of Argentina were Sebastian Sole and Rodrigo Quiroga with 18 rallies each. Both showed also their utmost output on the fourth set with Argentina winning by 10 points. The rest of the sets were equal with both teams leading at different times as it happened with the matches of Monday (2-3) and on Tuesday (3-1).

For the third match Julio Velasco chose as starting line-up the following players: Luciano De Cecco, Santiago Darraidou, Solé and Martin Ramos as middle players, Quiroga and Javier Filardi as wing spikers and Sebastian Closter as libero.

Nevertheless Canada won the match thanks to the outstanding performance of the opposite player, Gavin Schmitt, top scorer of the three matches.

Now, after returning to Buenos Aires city, the light blue - white team will go on training at Saquarema Olympic Centre in Brazil, where they will travel next Monday, August 11th (playing the first friendly match the same evening) v the host team that also prepares themselves for the World Championship.
