ARGENTINA JUNIORS' MEN KEEP UNDEFEATED AT SOUTH AMERICAN CHAMP

Third consecutive victory for Argentina in Saquarema

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, August 30, 2014 - Argentina, already qualified for Semi-Finals, won its third consecutive match at the Juniors' South American Championship overcoming Chile 3-1 (27-25, 26-28, 25-15, 25-19) in a match that showed much parity at the first two sets. Dusan Bonacic was the top scorer with 25 rallies while for the winner, Bruno Lima scored 21.

The team coached by Alejandro Grossi stands on top of Pool B and will play one of the semi-final matches v Colombia this Saturday while the top team of Pool A, Brazil will face Chile in the other semi-final match. Argentina will play at 15.30.

The first two sets were fought point by point with Argentina not playing so well as on the first two matches v Paraguay and Uruguay. After standing the series 1-1 a new match started as Chile lost concentration and Argentina played as on the first two matches showing their utmost and not making non-forced errors.

Alejandro Grossi – Argentine coach: "Chile is a very good organized team with great level because these players participated of the Youth's World Championship 2013. It is always hard to play against them and our players showed they were nervous. From the third set they played as I wish them to do it and then they won easily".

"Tomorrow v Colombia will be a very hard match. They have a great spike with three players that are very good at that output with very high and strong balls. We will do what we know best and I believe as a team we are better but we have to stop their power to make the difference and win".

Daniel Nejamkin – Chile coach: "We played two great first sets as it should at international matches. I am very proud for what my players showed at that time. Then we could not keep our level and as Argentina has more experience they won the match".

"Against Chile at the semi-final match we hope to keep the level we showed at this match at the beginning for a longer time and if we fulfil this the end result can be very different as on this match".

Both matches will be live broadcast by the South American Confederation www.voleysur.com.
