ARGENTINA UNDEFEATED AT FINAL SOUTH AMERICAN CHAMP WITH TICKET FOR WORLD CHAMP

Both finalists already qualified for the World Championship 2015

Saquarema, Brazil, August 31, 2014 - At one of the semi-finalist matches Argentina overcame Colombia 3-0 qualifying for the great final of the Juniors South American Championship and obtaining one of the two berths given to the continent for next years' age-group World champinship. The match ended 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 25-21) and Argentina will play for the Gold Medal against the home team of Brazil, that also stands undefeated this Sunday at 18.00 local time.

Even though most of the match both teams fought equal - specially at the first and third sets, the team coached by Alejandro Grossi won its fourth consecutive match of the competition 3-0 with Brian Melgarejo topping the score with 25 points.

Brazil had an easy semi-final match v Chile winning without any questions 3-0.

Argentina starting linr-up included: Sanchez, Lima, Gallego, Fernandez, Lazo, Melgarejo and Verasio. And the coaching team included: Nielson, Bitar, Johansen and Arduino.

Brian Melgarejo: "I am very happy, we knew it would be a ahrd match because they have a high efficiency spiking but we concentrate on us and we did not lose calmness when they scored and I think this was the clue for our victory knowing we also qualified for the World Championshp 2015"

Alejandro Grossi: "We fulfilled our first great goal, to qualify for the age-group World Championship 2015. We won but we face a very strong team at moments with a great power spiking. As team and organization I believe we stand one step higher. Now we face our second goal, the South American title".
