Hernan Ferraro talking to his players ending his first year coaching the U 23 Argentine Team

Buenos Aires, Argentina, October 16, 2014 - It was a very intensive year for the U 23 Argentine Team, the new age-group category at World international competitions that opened a bridge between the Juniors' and Seniors' without leaving behind without any national training many players. The goal is to develop their training making them grow to reach high output standard. And during this first season 2014 under the coaching of Julio Velasco of the National Seniors' Men Team, Hernan Ferraro, former Argentine light blue - white team setter with great experience coaching at the Argentine A1 League also for the first season coached the U 23 category.

After the qualy of the U 23 for the World Championship winning the silver medal at the South American Championship, Ferraro made a balance of this 2014 that is coming to a great end. "The qualy for the World Championship 2015 was our main goal with the team. We would have liked to finish it winning the title but the team performance at the final match v Brazil was good. Without taking into consideration our rival we did not play to our utmost" starts saying the coach.

- What were the goals when you started working during this 2014 international season, in the first year as coaches for Julio Velasco and you in front of the team that stands behind the Seniors?

- The "B" or "Support Group" team had clear goals: to train hard and at any moment be in conditions of being named for the Seniors' Team. There were also the Pan-American Cup and the chance of the Qualy for the World Championship 2015. All players knew that after the first two months, all the important work would be on both teams' shoulders and in some cases they would be eliminated of the best teams of the country. All understook very clearly what it means to wear the light blue - white jersey.

- The Bronze Medal at the Pan-American Cup was obtained with a combined team of young and experienced players. What was the goal at that competition?

- The Cup was very positive for us. We defeated teams like Venezuela, Puerto Rico and Canada, that were getting ready for the Seniors' World Championship Poland 2014. We lost in a very tied 2-3 match v Cuba but we saw great outstanding individual outputs and as a team interesting rallies.

- What did it mean to work as the right hand of Julio Velasco in his first year as Head Coach of the Seniors' being also your first year in front of national teams?

- It is a real joy and a great responsibility. We must work a lot to give somehow back the confidence he put on us. To work for the National Teams for me it is the utmost volleyball job and next to Julio it makes it even better.

- What are your goals for the year 2015?

- We will meet next November to study the 2015 calendar, concentrations, training and goals but there is no doubt. our mail goals to keep improving and grow as players and as team.
