Gallay- Azaad, top Argentine Entre-Rios players

Parana, Argentina, October 26, 2014 - Thompson Resort at the capital city of Entre Rios province is ready to welcome the 6th stop of the 2014 FIVB World Tour Open competition that will start this Tuesday. Argentina will host for second consecutive year the top beach volleyball party of the world, this time in a province with a huge tradition in organizing national beach volleyball competitions and with top ranked players.

In both genders, reserved at the Main Draw for the best 32 teams of the World, Entre Rios will show players that dream with the titles. The Olympic Ana Gallay from Nogoya can not hide her anxiety: "I want to compete. To play in Argentina and at home in Entre Rios over all, gives me lots of happiness. I hope to obtain a great result in Parana because we dream on it" she expresses.

Gallay, together with Georgina Klug (Santa Fe) enjoyed an outstanding international 2014 season standing just one step behind from semi-final matches in several world competitions. "I hope we can qualify at home. It would be amazing. We finished fifth several times in this that was, without any doubt, a great competition year for us" emphasized Gallay.

Among the men's, Julian Amado Azaad from Cerrito embraced beach volleyball and dedicated his sport career to it and now feels very strong about playing at home. "It is an outstanding feeling because I have competed all over the world but to play now only 50 kilometres from home is very different. A great pride. Playing, to feel supported by our people, friends, relatives, to be at home more that ever in such important competition is great".

This Sunday will start arriving all authorities, including FIVB officials. One of the first to arrive is Bob Clarke, Director of several FIVB events and responsible for the organization, among others, of the Olympic Games London 2012.

Also players start to land in our country. Among them the Men's champions of the 2013 edition of Corrientes Grand Slam, the first ever beach volleyball FIVB competition of that quality that took place in South America. Aleksandrs Samoilovs-Janis Smedins LET winners, will be once more competing now in Parana.

For Parana it will be the first time to carry out such an important event. A new Open FIVB World Tour stop returns to our country after Mar del Plata 1998, 99 and 2000. Argentina also enjoyed welcoming Satellite Stops in Mar del Plata 2004 and Buenos Aires 2005 and now it recovers the best level. Argentina has hosted already 5 FIVB stops (4 men's and one women's).

Among the many activities aside from the Open stop Parana will host a Beach Volleyball Coaches Course and the competition called "Peace Volleyball".
