Parana, Argentina, October 28, 2014 - With the Official Mandatory Technical Meeting for the Women's competition at Centro Cultural Municipal “Juan Ortiz” in the Entre Rios Capital city, the FIVB World Tour 6th Open Stop gave green light to the Women's Qualy that will take place this Tuesday from early hours, while the men's starts on the following day, Wednesday morning.

The meeting was headed by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) authorities: Bob Clarke (General Supervisor), Maria Amelia Villas Boas (In charge of Refereeing), Dominic Clark (In charge of the Media) and Andre Perlingeiro (Supervisor Technical Assistant). Also representing the Argentine Volleyball Federation was the competition Director, Andres Soriano.

All the women players that will participate of their Qualy, that starts this Tuesday at 10.00 at Thompson Resort were present. Also as support were the top ranked Argentine team (already qualified for the Main Draw) Ana Gallay-Georgina Klug.

After the protocolar greeting by the FIVB authorities welcoming all present members, took place the match drawing. The Argentine pair Maria Virginia Cappelletti-Evangelina Gallay will be in charge of opening the competition facing the Italian Laura Cavalluzzi-Jessica Luca.

Women's Qualy fixture:

10:00 - Cappelletti-Gallay (ARG) Cavalluzzi-Luca (ITA)

10:50 - Sancer-Amieva (ARG) vs. Churin-Peralta (ARG)

11:40 - Di Cesare M.-Di Cesare (ARG) Cardozo-Nani (URU)

Meanwhile, this afternoon will take place the Mandatory General Technical Meeting prior to the Men's Qualy at 19.30 with matches starting on Wednesday at the same time as the Women's Main Qualy action starts.

On Thursday, both genders will be participating of their own Main Draw with 48 matches at the Preliminary Round of each Fender. The top ranked team of each Pool will qualify directly for the Second Round while the second and third teams of each pool will participate of the First Round. From there on all matches are played by single elimination knockout round towards the Gold Medal. The fourth ranked team of each pool is eliminated after the finish of the Preliminary Round.
