BARILOCHE WORKING TOWARDS DE WOMEN SA OLYMPIC GAMES QUALY

Bariloche, Argentina, September 26, 2015 - The Organizing Committee of the Women's South American Olympic Games Qualy meet this week to plan with the local and province authorities to plan all the work that has to be done for the competition that will be held next January with Las Panteras fighting their place at Rio Olympic Games 2016.

After the U Youth's South American Championship took place the 70th Congress of the South American Confederation where Bariloche was ratified as venue of the Women's South American Volleyball Olympic Games Rio 2016 Qualy.

The competition will be held January 4th - 10th with the winner obtaining the direct ticket for Rio.

Proposal presented September 6, 2015:

The Argentine Volleyball Federation (FeVA) works already for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games Women's Qualy. This last Wednesday, the city of San Carlos de Bariloche submitted an application to organize beginning January 2016 the competition where Las Panteras look forward to qualifying for the most important 2016 international volleyball competition.

The Province of Rio Negro Governor Alberto Weretilneck met at his headquarters with FeVA President, Juan Antonio Gutierrez, FeVA Under-Treasurer Jose Maria Cuadrillero and the Treasurer Mario Ventos.

“We have welcomed with great pride the proposal of such a nice and wonderful city as Bariloche. We would love to carry such an important engagement for our Las Panteras in the season, because we believe that Bariloche and the whole province has enough potential to develop volleyball”, expressed Gutierrez.

At that meeting the Governor Weretilneck pointed out: "I want to support the Argentine Volleyball Federation in the best organized competition of our Patagonia, as reflection for our whole country, dignifying Argentine sport and positioning very strongly volleyball in our region".

In the next days FeVA will study the proposal to host the South American Women's Olympic Games Qualy defying which part of the organization of the competition that faces all Continental Teams that register in due time, except Brazil as organizer of the Olympic Games, that will play for one ticket to Rio will be in charge of the local and national committees.
