"We're really happy because we are on the podium with the Silver Medal. Of course, a little bit disappointed about the final, because we wanted the gold medal. But we did really good so far, and got to the final for the first time in our life. We are enjoying it now. We're really proud of our team," said Klug.

To reach their first FIVB World Tour event final, Gallay/Klug had accomplished the daunting task of beating world championship semi-finalists Katrin Holtwick/Iika Semmler in the semi-final. They displayed a spirited performance in route to a 2-0 (21-16, 21-15) win in the morning.

"It's a spectacular match. We played a great team, the 14th in the world. We never played them before. We knew they came here to play the final. So we went out with our whole hearts to be there. We fought every ball to be in the final. We deserved it," said Gallay.

"I think we played really good side-out. We knew what to do in defence. But, I think, the biggest difference was the attitude. We tried to win every ball and fought a lot. So we really deserve it" she added.
