ARGENTINA SILVER MEDAL AT THE MEN'S SOUTH AMERICAN CHAMP

Maceio, Brazil, October 4, 2015 - Brazil obtained its thirties Gold Medal and the title at the Seniors' Men South American Championship overcoming its "classical" rival, Argentina 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-16) at the 31st edition of the competition. They played the 16th final match of the premier continental competition that faced them continuously since the 2005 edition.

In a crowded Maceio Stadium and with the support of all its fans the team coached by Bernardinho never left the leadership showing its superiority using its best weapons, serving and blocking. The top scorers of the match were Evandro Guerra for Brazil with 14tallies while for Argentina Pablo Koukartsev scored 13.

Brazil, in Pool A finished undefeated while Argentina, coached by Julian Alvarez returns home after losing a single match. Argentina won a total of 17th Silver Medals and one Gold (1964).

The Bronze Medal was won by Colombia over Venezuela 3-0 (25-21, 27-25, 25-21) and with this result Brazil stands first; Argentina, second and Colombia third in the new South American Ranking. Venezuela stood third after the Cabo Frio, Brazil 2013 edition.
